Metallic Mayhem.

I'm currently laid in bed staring at the ceiling and thinking and over thinking!
A lot is on my mind lately, and feeling slightly stressful with personal problems and work relations...

I've been shopping loads to take my mind elsewhere, as every girl likes a good spree to keep her on her toes! And indulged in the rare occasional night outs I've had this previous week.

Ill be uploading recent hauls at some point too so keep your eyes peeled ladies... :)

But for now here's a little snippet of what I wore to my works "Golden frog awards" night last night...
I saw some fresh faces (literally) and the old which made me let loose again...

I had a such great night followed by a long walk home in the snow at 3am in stolen lost property clothes (which I won't preach about...) ft. size 20 pj' bottoms with a hint of high waist definition and size 4 pumps (which lets add were two sizes too small) was the tip of the 2 hour climb home... just what I needed lately with my boys and girls, events that I'm still laughing about now! :')

I decided to opt for a classy look of metallic clashes of silver in a revealing number teamed with glitter silver socks to enhance the tone I was going for.

The dress was a BARGAIN price of £8.00 from Dorothy Perkins and the socks were a little price of £3.15 (with student discount) at TOPSHOP.
Accessories were also purchased from the two high street stores, collaborating with a  cream and black colour block blazer in the sale at Primark for £10.00 's!

Anyway, hope you've all had a great week in the snow?
with Snow drama's like mine ;)
....get it?..

And hopefully I can get some creative flow kicking in tomorrow!

Night beauties,
Lou

LONDON FASHION WEEK IS UPON US.

GET READY FOR IT!
15th- 19th February 2013.

The event of the year is BACK for round two, a chance for all current and upcoming designers to prance their new creations and amazing outfit combinations of crazy to sophisticated collections... ready to slam it all out for the long weekend of Fash' off's and I for one CAN'NOT WAIT.

The dying urge to whip up them YouTube videos, and better yet live streaming for that teeny glimpse of new inspirations of prints and fabrics, shapes and structures, and most importantly the aspired theme of your favourite designers collections. I'm so excited, I suddenly had a brain wave...
I am going to volunteer myself in assisting in anything and everything!

Why not push a chance to not only be at the event but to support the industry?

I've been emailing AND EMAILINGGGGG designer after designer from the A-Z list, some really fantastic hosts for you all by the way... and also the British Fashion Council in hope for a response I'm urging for...
I've been getting a few replies but nothing major as of yet...

There's simply ONE MONTH to go!
If ANYONE has previously worked for LFW before or currently will be doing, please forward any information you have...
Until then, wish me luck guys!

Check out the main site for details of the event!

Keep me posted on which collections you enjoyed most...

Its easy and free to create. If you Searched for a particular brand/artist/object/designer ETC. I can guarantee they will own a page to like. It's a little crazy but

ANYWAAAY...
I was asked to like a page called "Emily Elizabeth's"
Immediately I was drawn int such cuteness and raw edge these foam floral beauties own!

The pastel tones and the hand crafted ensembles are just too adorable to girl up simply ANY outfit combination.
Although winter is upon us I recon a one off piece by Emily would create the illusion of Summer all over again!
Combine such elegance with floral structures instead of harsh spikes and over used stud's.

All priced at £15 (with additional postage charges)
Images takenby the talented,

If you are interested in a hairband or a crown why not yet in contact and have it make just the way you wanted :).
- Emily Elizabeth.

I really admire beautiful hand made creations compared to high street knock off's of cheap metal that snap and gold that makes your skin green... Seriously, what is that about?... I can't tell you the amount of "Topshop" Freedom and limited edition, jewelry and hair pieces I always spend with my last few bob and they just collapse after a night out?! ANNOYINGGGGGG!

Whilst working at Birds Yard, I openly admit I prefer the independent designs and can appreciate the quality and originality young designers are producing nowadays.

I've always been a fan of over accessorizing and adding different accessories to make a particular look a little more interesting by collaborating something as little as a broach to a printed vintage scarf. To extreme measures of large bows and OTT head pieces. In the Summer I loved to experimenting with large flowers, my own DIY head chains for my hair and spiked collars.

Handmade headchain's by me.
-ClutterUpTheBedroom, a summer business I did in 12'.

I think most of my inspiration to wear items as such, came from the imagery
and style research from my old Tumblr account,

and online shop, Ivory Jar.

It's a little pricey, but I recon the quality would be amazing if you'd wear the piece on more than the odd occasion. - Goth up a boring outfit and be the different!

Which is YOUR most desired accessory to wear?
Why not try make your own statement piece!?

Zero money, Shopping? YES!

I think like myself, all you ladies only contain the last few pennies from spending too much in the Boxing/January sales, just me?...
Oops :/...

Anyway I haaate getting paid and spending my monies on pointless nights out, travel and junk food?! So I always aim to buy myself something fresh for work even if its a new accessory or a new tee I like mix and match my old purchases with the new.

With 15 English pounds scraped together in my purse me and my good friend resorted to -Charity shop, shopping', my all time FAVOURITE kind of shopping! Not only are you donating to a popular charity cause but you are buying one off pieces that your best friends won't have hung in their wardrobes! Be the DIFFERENT and quirky in your friendship group...

I managed to bag myself a whole new outfit for just £13.00 pounds!
Here's some of my haul pieces that I managed to spot and buy...

A vintage belt- Black Leather with gold detail, Medium chunk! Costing only £2.50
-Fab for a elongating lengths, as a petite young lady I am always buying different belts to highlight high waist definition.

Also Black Floor-Length Pleated Skirt, from BHS costing £3.50,
A black number all girls need to add class to casual and night wear, an item I was searching to buy this time last week in my local River Island store.
(all purchased from Cancer Research)

I also found this beaded low cut tee for only £3.50, again... Which I thought I could team with the belt in hand as a dress or wear with a pair of my disco leggings...

The top itself is a little revealing but I reckon a hint of cleavage in a vintage number can ever appear to be  under-dressed, so this is okay girls but not too much flesh as that would ruin the achieved look.
(also purchased from my local Cancer Research shop)

AND LAST OF ALL MY NEW LUST,
THIS BABY!
Quilted cropped velvet jacket, with gold button detail.
FANTASTIC TOP LAYER to smarten any outfit combination.
I bought this particular item to wear for work purposes, in the shops and my night job.

Velvet is highly popular in the High Street at the moment and increasingly showing in current trends...
This purchase came to an affordable price of... drum roll please... ONLY THREE POUNDS!
Amazed by its quality and comfortable fit I had to buy!

A PRIME EXAMPLE of WHY girls should urge them selves to vintage or second hand shops.
Cheaper price tags and 101% one off originality.

I cannot wait to pay around in variety of combinations for my night out tomorrow night!
I think I will opt. for a casual dress and my pony hair platforms
;)

Have you ever had a successful Charity Spree?

Three cheers for teamwork!

This weekend I finaaaalllllyyyyy recieved an Email from ENB Photography containing the final images of the last photo shoot collaboration with stock from both Birdshell and Bozena Carter and hair and beauty by,Rina Deb Make Up Artist and Rebel Pinup Hairdressing - Representing some STUNNING work guys! I was so so impressed, I'm still smiling ha! ♥

I can't upload any final imagery as of yet but keep your eyes peeled as I'll be uploading a few favourite shot's in the up and coming featured blog.

Everyone show these guys some lurrrrvin' by searching each brand/artist in the search box on facebook for more updates and info...

Also after last night's rare dose of Peri Peri chicken...
...with the annual Nando's photo, of course...

I popped to the shop and discovered this.
The Superblogger issue of this months Company magazine, now I've seen this on the shelves for a while but last night I gave into temptation and ditched the monthly Elles and Vogues and opted for this read.

I'd 101% recommend this issue to all fresh/current fashion bloggers as it's basically a bible to all fashion lovers wanting to make something from daily bloggin' to top job opportunity's.
A whole issue suggesting new and upcoming bloggers and hot tips to making it, so called -BIG', in the industry.

...A topic I'm deeply interested in as I want to find a next placement collaborating my passion for blogging or better yet working for a local fashion magazine.

It just shows with a little help of a well thought-out issue we can all relate to what we want and how we could go about it, watch out 2013!

Do you have any job goals within the new year?

NY moments.

Since the early months of this academic term, all I seem to have done is work my tushie off with events, photo shoots and promotions, I decided to take a break from my uni work and get my party feet well and truly on!

Here's a few images of the new year highlights of what I've been getting up to...

Before work, I wanted a classy look this NYE and opt'ed for a pin up do teamed with low-cut embellished midi dress and goth makeup.

The theme of the night was- Narnia,
so here are a few snaps on the night of the event...

and here she is, haa! Are very own Snow Queen, Sasha Crompton.

Although most staff at the work place was on rota, I reckon we had an okay NYE shift...
Myself and Kayleigh trying to keep positive about things...
Hope you all had a cracking NYE whatever you got upto in the early hours of '13...

And then there's the annual night out with the best friend,
us before Faxvegas...

Keeping it back to black we both went for elongated lengths and chiffon's,
with a hint of cleavage.
-woooooops!

Hope everyone had a fun-filled work break!
I know I have ;)

Pay roll purchases.

To cut a small blog entry short,
I have been busting my ass all Christmas/New year in order to buy myself nice treats in the big January Sales...

I scurried through all the major high street stores to help suggest new buys to enhance a new winter look,
Topshop was casually letting me down what with the lack of originality on the rails as I usually go on a mad spree I urged myself towards River Island and Dorothy Perkins.

These were a few purchases made on the day,
Thick tweed boyfriend coat with fur collar/reduced from £95.00 to £50.00
-Dorothy Perkins.
Pug/dog-tooth print vest, reduced to £5.00 and cat print blouse with studded collar, reduced to £15.00
both purchased from River Island.
Assorted earrings and necklaces from Topshop and Miss Selfridge.

I was really pleased with my new items.
I think I spent around £85.00 that day... A big spend that I definitely do not regret.

I think the whole colour palettes bought compliment each other and would look gorgeous teamed with my navy disco pants and leather skirt.
I can't wait to play around and match make new combinations.

My new coat is the best thing since portable radiators.
So cosy and can make any outfit a snug one!

:)
Happy Shopping everyone,
Lou
