After pursuing placement after placement I began to crave the urge for creativity again...
I hate to admit, but I had minus confidence and didn't have a clue on how to go about and find somewhere local and brilliant to help my find my fashion feet again.
I wanted to gain a different type of experience as I previously worked for an online shop and was in talks of a collaboration with other designers...Therefore I looked up boutique after boutique in the I local area of Huddersfield and Leeds and came across a few hopefuls...
I've always had a soft spot for vintage fashion so this was my perfect opportunity to her in touch with a favourite shop *Mad Elizabeth* (located on the upper deck of the Corm Exchange/Leeds).
The shop is quote- "MAD", with its Magenta walls and quirky picture frames, what more could I ask than to work In a fun environment specialising in my favourite type of fashion...
I posted to the girls working there via there FB page and there response was fast and very welcoming to an interview the following Monday to discuss the intern role.
Monday's chat came and I was offered an internship with the girls, who I can safely say are now good friends and would like to thank Heather and Claire for the opportunity of giving me the experience of working in Vintage retail and styling.
AND LOOK!
Even LITTLE MIX are a fan of the shop and purchased some of our goodies!
Boys and Girls!
If your ever in the Leeds area, shopping or what not...
I would recommend a trip to the Corn Exchange is a definite must. A building filled with years of retail history and independent boutiques!
